Group Teacher

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include providing a safe healthy environment, creating and teaching lessons to children in the daycare. The Group Teacher is also responsible for providing direct guidance to the support staff and communicating with parents on a daily basis.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
 Write and lead staff in implementing toddler/preschool/school age curriculum
 Attends all meetings as required
 Creates educational materials and displays including children’s art, curriculum themes and special events as requested
 Supervise students throughout the school day
 Assists in diapering, toileting and toilet training
 Helps supervise meal times
 Help maintain overall organization of classroom equipment and supplies as well as the physical maintenance of the classroom
 Helps to carry over appropriate discipline techniques to maintain order and safety within the classroom in accordance with school policies and philosophy
 Open the school (or close the school) and be prepared to receive/dismiss daycare children.
 Communicate with the daycare families’ concerns, questions and information regarding daycare
 Prepare breakfast/snacks/lunches for daycare children on days when school in not in session.
 Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor
