This position is Per Diem (As needed to fill in for Staff nurse, vacation/sick coverage – No holidays, No weekends) Work hours would fall between the hours of 8:00am and 4:30pm Monday through Friday.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide medical services to individuals with a history of substance abuse, dependency, and related problems, as well as individuals who are “at risk for relapse”.
- Works with other medical staff for continuity of clients’ medical care.
- Conduct substance abuse evaluations and assessments, as required.
- Communicates with clinical staff regarding clients’ medical concerns.
- Works directly with clients in providing medical services and interpreting medical information.
- Provides direct client care of medical assessment and infectious disease reporting in accordance with the law.
- Provides public health information and screening protocols.
- Maintain client confidentiality in accordance with Federal & State Confidentiality Laws.
- Administer MAT therapeutic injections under the supervision /direction of Medical Director.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be a licensed practical nurse currently registered by the New York State Education Department.
- Experience and/or training in the treatment of substance abuse and/or substance dependency preferred.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Experience with giving Intramuscular and Subcutaneous injections preferred.
