We have several openings for full time Residential Habilitation Counselors in Rochester. Our counselors support individuals with disabilities to live successfully as members of their community. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Provide Person Centered supports.
- Support the self-direction of services.
- Support health and wellness of individuals.
- Assist in nutritious meal planning and preparation on a one to one basis.
- Assist residents in travel training to appointments and other functions.
- Assist residents in organizing, coordinating and attending recreational/community activities.
- Abides by the DSP Code of Ethics.
- Adheres to Starbridge organizational values.
- Responsible for obtaining and maintaining First Aid, Medication Administration, CPR and other designated certifications, and for keeping updated.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or GED with one year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or one full year of college courses in a related field.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Valid New York State driver’s license and an insured, registered motor vehicle.
- Must be ambulatory.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
- Upon completion of AMAP Certification, all full time employees must maintain AMAP Certification status.
