Introducing Mission Tempo: Affordable Finance, HR, and Marketing Support for Rochester-Area Nonprofits

New Program Gives Small Rochester Nonprofits Access to Finance, HR, and Marketing Teams They Couldn't Afford Alone

Posted on: September 16, 2026

Council of Agency Executives, Causewave Community Partners, and CCSI join forces to give small and mid-sized nonprofits a multi-year on-ramp to operational sustainability.

ROCHESTER, NY — The Council of Agency Executives (COAE), Causewave Community Partners, and Coordinated Care Services, Inc. (CCSI) announced the launch of Mission Tempo, a new program offering small and mid-sized nonprofits under $5 million across the Greater Rochester and Finger Lakes region affordable, expert, fractional staff support in finance and accounting, human resources, and marketing and communications.

Mission Tempo gives nonprofit leaders a multi-year on-ramp toward operational sustainability, allowing them to build the high-quality infrastructure their organizations need while spending less time on administrative work and more time advancing their mission.

Many small and mid-sized nonprofits do their essential mission work while also trying to staff their own back office — often without the budget, staff, or time to do it well. Mission Tempo was created to close that gap, giving Executive Directors and their teams access to the same caliber of financial, HR, and marketing expertise that larger organizations rely on every day but in a fractional structure.

Organizations enroll through the Council of Agency Executives and choose the service areas where they need the most support — finance and accounting, human resources, or marketing and communications — with the option to expand as the program progresses. Participating organizations contribute a portion of the cost on a sliding-scale cost share, with the remainder underwritten through grant funding. Organizations are enrolled on a rolling basis as program capacity grows to meet demand.

To be eligible, organizations must operate in the Greater Rochester and Finger Lakes region, have an annual operating budget of $5 million or less, employ at least one full-time paid staff member, and be current members of the Council of Agency Executives (or become a member prior to enrollment).

Mission Tempo is available now to qualifying organizations.

Nonprofit leaders across our region are stretched thin, doing the work of an Executive Director and an entire back office at the same time. Mission Tempo gives them a real partner — one that understands the nonprofit sector and is built to help their organizations grow stronger, not just get by.
